Introducing Our Blessings

It is far past time for me to join the age of blogging, and hopefully preserve a little of my kids childhood in the process. For those of you who know me well, it is unlikely I will email pictures or even a quick 'hi' once in awhile. Time will tell whether I can commit to updating a blog more regularly. So here goes...

Our oldest blessing- Cade. He is in second grade this year and spends most of his free time with his nose in a book or begging to play games on the computer. This morning he arrived in our bedroom and announced that he had finished his Boxcar Children book, which I'm sure still had 2 or 3 chapters remaining when I tucked him in last night. I, of course, asked him how long he had been up and reading. With a smile that melts my heart he replied, "Only about an hour I think." This began our day at about 6:50 am. He is now in bed for the night after enjoying the first half of a VERY cold homecoming game with his dad. Tomorrow morning will be his last flag football game for the year- also supposed to be a chilly morning with a forecast of possible flurries. Ahh, the dedication or sheer lunacy of parenting!

Our littlest and youngest blessing- Morgan. She has the opportunity to spend 4 days a week in Pre-Kindergarten this year. She LOVES school. I'm pretty sure her daddy loves having her in school, too. Nightly we are serenaded by new songs she learned or she proudly shares the picture she drew or painted. Her favorite song for the week was Pumpkin, Pumpkin on the Vine- adorable to listen to when she sang it to me for the first time on the phone while I was driving home from work. There are also now 'works of art' neatly taped with scotch tape on nearly every door in our house- which says a lot if you've seen our house!

Then there is Wilbur- also a blessing most of the time. Wilbur is our 3 year old, extremely hyper but very loving dog. Morgan claims him as her best friend and her pillow! He will likely make some of the pictures and posts on this blog- so I thought you should meet him now.

The house- An ongoing blessing, which we sometimes say through gritted teeth, has been our house that continues to occupy much of our free time. I told Cade recently that we were getting closer to being done with the house, to which he quickly replied, "It doesn't seem like it!"

There you have it- you've been introduced to a few of the blessings that grace our lives. I hope you will continue to enjoy and learn more about each as I continue my blogging journey.
